The station is located in Puerto Ayora, on Santa Cruz Island, within the Galapagos Islands. It is a biological research station. It also functions as an active breeding center and is world-renowned for breeding giant tortoises (Galapagos tortoises) in captivity. It features:
Exhibition Hall: In this space, visitors will find a wealth of information resulting from almost 60 years of research on the archipelago. They can also enjoy a traveling exhibition of local photography and natural history collections.
There is also a donation area here for those who wish to contribute to the foundation's work. Breeding Center: The Breeding Center houses small island turtles that are brought there to be assisted during their hatching and early days, as they lack the maturity to do so on their own. Once they have passed this stage, they are returned to their places of origin. This helps prevent a decline in the turtle population. Turtle Enclosures: Here you can observe, compare, and marvel at the different shapes of turtle shells from various origins.
